Contemporary Villa

In 2022, we had the privilege of renovating an amazing villa in Rotterdam ‘S-Gravenland for our clients.
The three-story family home has an open layout, where soft and fresh tones are contrasted with bold elements and modern art.
The couple has a love for contemporary art, which is reflected throughout the interior.
The couple always had a desire to remodel after purchasing their home. Collaborating closely with them, we came up with a full design concept and steered them through the remodeling process. With the new design on the table, first, all flooring, existing lighting, interior doors, and the kitchen were stripped away from the home.
A beton cire floor was applied to all three floors, and later in the process, all window frames and exterior doors were replaced. The flooring gives a natural look to the home. A steel entrance tunnel was created at the front of the house. The construction of the staircase was relocated and finished with custom oak.
A large aspect of the renovation centered around the creation of a statement kitchen – a dream envisioned by the couple. A rounded kitchen island was therefore created in the center of the kitchen with corrugated oak panels and a Silestone Blanco composite. The integrated black tabletop and carefully selected appliances seamlessly blend with the aesthetics, while purpose-built drawers and storage solutions enhance functionality.
On the first floor the closet area unveils, where cabinets are raised in the same style for abundant storage. In the bathrooms and toilets, sanitary applications by Gessi and Frost were used. Contrasts were also sought in these spaces between a natural look and tough dark elements.
